Seocheon Traditional Dance Company

Established on July 2017, SeocheonTraditional Dance Company continues performance activities for a wide variety of audiences throughout the nation, as well as re-creates Korea's traditional arts for newer generation's taste.

Seocheon Traditional Dance Company

The evening will introduce Seocheon Tradition Dance Company, who are performing in Dubai for the first time. Ever since its establishment in 2017, the company has dazzled the audience by their unique recreation of traditional Korean dances, that have been inspired by tangible and intangible Korean cultural heritages to promote Seocheon Gun, as well as the cultural heritage of Korea.

* Seocheon Gun (county) is located at the end of the West coast in Chung cheong nam do (Chun nam province), where the beautiful scenery of Chungchungdo is surrounded by Geum River, one of the four major rivers in the country.

Tae-Pyeong Mu

Tae-Pyeong Mu (Great Peace Song) is one of the intangible cultural heritages of Korea; it is a dance that beautifully expresses sincere prayers for endless peace and happiness. What sets this dance apart from other traditional dances, is its unique foot movement that combines with very elegant and delicate hand movement.

Love song and Sa Mool Nori & Peacock Fan Dance

A Love song is designated as a UNESCO human intangible heritage. This song demonstrates how one falls in love. The structure of the song is simple question and answer style. It is accompanied by chamber music and Sa Mool Nori (Korean traditional folk instruments), which create lyrical and sincere music. In the middle of the song, a Peacock Fan Dance, which is the 21st intangible cultural heritage of Choong Nam province, will be performed.

Another UNESCO human intangible heritage is Love Song, which elegantly shows how one falls in love in a simple question and answer style. The song is accompanied by chamber music and Samul Nori (four traditional Korean percussion instruments). The song also features a Peacock Fan Dance, which is considered another intangible cultural heritage.

A Love song is a part of , Korean 'Pansori', that is designated as a UNESCO human intangible heritage. This song delivers how one falls in love to another, the structure of the song is simple question and answer style. It is accompanied by chamber music and Sa Mool Nori (Korean traditional folk instruments), organized for creating lyrical and sincere music.

In the middle of the song, a Peacock Fan Dance, which is 21st intangible cultural heritage of Choong Nam province, will be performed.

Fan Dance modernly reinterprets the traditional Korean one with a fast exciting tempo. The dancers wear colorful costumes and fans that emulate women’s curves as they take the stage to the sound of bright Korean rhythmic music.

The Company modernly reconstructed the Pan-Nori, which is a Korean tradition that highlights the activities and dance that ordinary people partook in open venues to forge strong bonds and encourage cooperation and teamwork.

Pan Nori vividly presents the Korean traditional art by combing the traditional dance to the personal play of Samul Nori percussionists.

The traditional culture of the Korean nation is a positive organization that has a very strong self-organization as members of the group play together with the play that they have played to promote mutual encouragement

It is a beautiful breezy culture that helps people to form together. At this time, the plays which played with the public at open venues such as the courtyard, the play board, the sound board, and the dance board were called as Pan-Nori. Later, more professional, well-trained performers appeared whose main job was playing this play. They created constructions. techniques of Pan-Nori and developed the play for the highest quality.

The Traditional Dance Association of Seocheon county, Korea reconstructed this Korean tradition according to this era and made a plate where the Sa Mool Noriri and the dance meet together. Pan-Nori is the work that maximizes the new name of Korean traditional art through the encounter of the personal play and the dance of Sa Mool Nori.
